I started this company in 1984, sweeping chimneys out of a used van with a brush I bought from a retired mason in Wind Gap. Forty-two years later, I’m still on roofs when the job calls for it, still checking every Level-2 camera inspection before we hand the photos to the homeowner. I hold CSIA certification and have inspected maybe eight thousand chimneys in Northampton County alone. What I’ve learned: creosote doesn’t care about your schedule, and most “emergencies” could’ve been prevented with a sweep the homeowner kept putting off. I live in Plainfield Township with my wife and two dogs who’ve never once cared about my opinion on flue gases.

Mike’s been with us fourteen years, which in chimney work means he’s seen every way a Pennsylvania winter can crack a crown or pull apart a mortar joint. Jake’s in his second year with us, learning the trade from Mike and Teresa the old way: watching, then doing, then being corrected. He’s already certified for basic sweeping and inspection assist, and he’s working toward his CSIA credential this spring. Jake handles the prep work, the ladder setup, the camera logging, and the cleanup that most homeowners notice more than the technical stuff. He’s from Roseto, which means he commutes past the old slate quarries every morning and has developed opinions about which back roads stay passable in ice. We’re not letting him on a steep-pitch roof solo yet. He knows it. We all did.
